Music is a mission, not a competition said Promoe once but despite this opinion The Eurovision song contest is being held every year. My family has a tradition to watch the show every year so I watch them too. Tonight was the first qualifying consert. I didn't really have a favorite before the show because both the finnish and the estonian song sucked in my opinion. Finland managed to get itself to the semifinals. They performed actually quite well and because most of the other songs sucked really badly they came off pretty fresh. My favorite song was Norway's though. Riding on the wave of the Amy Winehouse boom, they took a place in the semifinals.

The Eurovision Song Contest is quite old and doesn't bring out the best musical talent in Europe. But a new way of finding good music has come up. Forget the radio,tv and magazines. The freshest music can be found from the same media format that you are reading right now, blogs. There are numerous good music blogs on the internet which provide everything in music.
